JOS FILM & TECHNICAL ACADEMY is an institution of higher learning founded and established and registered with CAC and the Ministry of Education of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the year 2023. JoFTA is a National Diploma and Higher National Diploma awarding institution which offers programmes/courses approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as its main curriculum. We also run Pre-ND and Professional Certificate Courses.

JoFTA provides the best quality and affordable education to all interested individuals. JoFTA stands on the solid rock of quality education and the tenets of the philosophy of education. We believe in the capability and capacity of the individual mind. We believe in the development of the individual’s personality for self-reliance and self-realization for the betterment of the society.

Our Programmes/Courses

Our programmes/courses are carefully selected to meet the dire need of our potential students within and around the school community. For the purpose of equipping and empowering our students, we also consider the entrepreneurial potentials of these courses so that each and every student will graduate with a certificate that can serve him/her dual purposes - to either secure a job/be employed or starts a business/be an employer of labour.

      Film & TV Production, Performing and Media Arts, Mass Communication, Multimedia Technology, Hospitality Management (Catering), Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, Music Technology, Photography, Broadcasting Journalism, Cosmetology and Beauty (Make-up) Therapy, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Estate Management, Statistics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Business Management, Accounting, etc.

 Film Script writing, Directing and Acting, Multimedia             Technology, Photography, Cinematography, Hospitality Management (Catering), Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, Music Technology, Computer Science, Graphic Design, IU/IX Design, Business Administration, Public Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Cosmetology and Make-up Design, Accounting, etc.

Note: All diploma courses are for 2 years (4 semesters); while all professional certificate courses are for 9 months (3 modules) durations respectively.

OBJECTIVES/GOALS

Our objective is to raise holistic, dynamic, and strong-minded men and women who go on to progress/excel in all chosen endeavours and achieve great things.

AGENDUM

JoFTA deliberately brings together other programmes into film production because they are interrelated. These programmes are interdependent but at the same time interwoven so much so that one cannot exist without another. We intentionally desire to train individuals in any of the programmes with the vision that he/she will graduate to fit into any aspect of film and TV production, even if the individual did not undergo training in film and TV production.

For instance, hospitality management and fashion design, and clothing technology are one of the key ingredients or aspects of film production. They have a major role in making the production complete and successful, without these two and others, the whole production will be impossible. Hospitality management students will play the role of welfare and props in the film production, while fashion design and clothing technology students will play the role of costume design and make-up design.

Therefore, we recognize the importance of each of these programmes to film and TV production. The main goal is to build cooperation and/or collaboration and teamwork among various departments as individual programmes in their rights come together to create a wholesome production and vice versa.

In the same vein, JoFTA has a hundred percent capability to run practical classes in all programmes according to the NBTE curriculum and syllabus. We will provide state-of-the-art equipment for practical purposes to ensure we produce the best global practices and designs.
